I am an outdoors person and this product screens the best of any I've used. It does not wash off, gives hours of protection and stays on. Very concentrated so do not use much otherwise your face will turn white and look like Casper the Friendly Ghost.

Coola MineralBaby Moisturizer Suncare, SPF 45, Unscented 3 oz (90 ml) Review

Coola MineralBaby Moisturizer Suncare, SPF 45, Unscented 3 oz (90 ml)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This sunscreen has some stuff I love about it and stuff that can be improved. I'll start with the positives.
1. This is an all natural product with out the harmful chemicals that sunscreens has
2. this is the only sunscreen or sunblock I have ever used that didn't irritate my eyes. I could wear this all day and no problems.
3. it does have a white residue on your face, but it's not so bad when you wipe the excess off. The white residue is minimal compared to other healthy sunblock brands that I have tried.
Now for the bad.
1. This sunblock is very greasy. It's hard to wash off of your skin. I broke out after having used this sunblock for a couple weeks. Normal soap and water does not remove this product entirely and you may get acme. Hopefully I can find a cleanser that can remove this. I've been trying exfoliating cleanser to scrub it off.
2. It leaves a white gooey residue on your clothes. I washed my clothes and the residue was still there so it's apparently not water soluable. I am going to try to using hot water in the rinse cycle next time instead of cold. I am hoping that will help.
3. this sunblock comes out of the tube very thick, especially when the tube gets cold. You have no choice but to apply a thick layer on your face for complete coverage and then you have to wipe off the excess which is kind of annoying.
conclusion:
This sunblock is not with out flaws, but it is a good product nonetheless. I am willing to put up with with the white residue problem for now 'cause it doesn't irritate my eyes. That's very important to me since most sunscreens render me blind after a few hours of use. So, it's great for babies and kids since it's mild. Just wash your skin thouroughly after use with the proper cleanser 'cause you may break out. Also, it doesn't have the harmful chemicals that other products have and no nano-zinc which is important.

Anthelios XL sunblock - SPF 60 - 3oz - with Mexoryl Review

Anthelios XL sunblock - SPF 60 - 3oz - with Mexoryl
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Amazing. Mexoyrl was available in the rest of the world for 13-17 years before being approved by the FDA - with no additional testing, no explanation for the delays (FYI Most of the world have more restrictive regulations on cosmetics v. U.S. regs). Mexoyrl is available in many products elsewhere as a generic (along with >5 other newer sunscreen developments). But because it's "new" in the U.S. the patent starts all over again here and some products that have it as an ingredient elsewhere, have disappeared entirely from store shelves in the U.S.
What does that mean? It means I now pay MORE for Mexoyrl products than I did importing it illegally (which was never strictly enforced anyway). It has become LESS available, not more.
For decades people petitioned the FDA for Mexoyrl, including dermatologists because there is no equal -not even close. The ingredients currently used in sunscreens against UVA (read cancer-causing rays) are not stable and may even be harmful to your skin. Consumer Reports called them snake oils, class action lawsuits were filed against 9 major manufactueres including coppertone, johnson, neutrogenia.
Mexoyrl is 99% effective, stable in the sun (not photosensitive), does not react with minerals (like in tints that leave older ingredients ineffective or harmful) and like I said, nothing else comes close in the U.S.
The backlash after it's approval has lead many well-meaning consumer type organizations that don't do their own testing to over-estimate the claims from the snake oil manufacturers. The latest FDA rating standards do not rate what the effectiveness is 10 min. after it's applied, in the sun. They are almost meaningless.
I have life-threatening skin cancer. This is no joke and the discrepancy between the truth and propaganda is costing lives.
No sunscreen is a free pass to be in the sun, esp. during the worst times when the sun is closest. The sun now is not the same as what I was exposed to growing up. Sunscreen is not the first line of protection, shade is. There are very cheap laundry additives that can raise a tshirt rating from a 4 to a 50, plus being stable in the sun. That's better than a cream. Something is not better than nothing when exposure to the sun is increased (evidence for the lawsuit included rates of skin cancer were increasing despite use of sunscreens).
Skin cancer is expensive, disfiguring and can be life threatening. What people do at 20, they will pay for at 40. The ages are lowering along with the epidemic growth.
Save thousands in wrinkle treatments, anti-aging products and makeup by protecting your skin now. Sun protection added to tinted makeup is a joke. It's physically impossible just like claims to be 'waterproof' or all day protection. Mexoryl is 99% effective screening UVA rays.
If you import your own then you can get others that work with tinted makeup.

GOscreen Natural BrushOn Powder Sunscreen for Kids and Adults, SPF30 Review

GOscreen Natural BrushOn Powder Sunscreen for Kids and Adults, SPF30
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Not to be the single, cranky wet-blanket, but I feel like someone should deflate some of the hype. The applicator is awful, flat-out. The little pump-thing has to be pushed about twenty times to dispense enough sunscreen to cover maybe half your arm, and even then it's difficult to tell if you have any of the stuff on you because it's see-through (when you go out in the sun, though, it's just barely shimmery. Maybe a deal-breaker for some, but I think it's pretty). This makes the product's claim of "WHOA! 300+ applications!" a little dubious, because, really, if one pump counts as an application you're getting a lot less than 300 uses, even if you only use it to cover a very small area like your face. Eventually I ended up cracking the whole thing open and putting the powder in a little container so I could dip a brush in and apply it myself.
That said, the actual SUNCREEN works really well, gives my skin a nice shimmer, and doesn't make me look like an oil slick. It's really a lovely product, it's just the design that sucks.

Soleo Organics all natural SUNSCREEN, SPF 30 Review

Soleo Organics all natural SUNSCREEN, SPF 30
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We just bought and used this product due to its high ratings on Skin Deep (an agency that uses a rating system to inform the public of the toxicity of a products ingredients) but after using it for a few days on our trip to Florida, we tossed it in the trash.
We have four kids, ranging in age from 1-12, and we are vigilant about sun protection (our kids all wear rash-guards as well as sun screens while swimming) and re-applications of lotions but we had several bad burns on our little ones. Last year, we used California Baby products and though it was bit tough to rub in, our kids never burned.
This stuff was greasy too, but I would have tolerated that if it had worked!
Mid-vacation I switched my family from Soleo to a back-up tube of California Baby from last year, and it STILL worked better, even being over a year old!
I'd use this product with hesitancy. If you're going out for a bit of sun here and there, it's probably fine. But if it's your main protection against the sun--think twice. There are better products on the market with low toxicity ratings.

I I found this face block on the Environmental Working Group's list of safest sunscreens. It is very thick - a little goes a long way. It leaves the skin slightly whitened, but since I use it under makeup, it doesn't show. I was at the beach for 4 hours and never had to re-apply. I would buy this product again.

Though the price is a little higher than what I would normally pay for sunscreen, since it was listed in a recent magazine article to be one of the top 10 sunscreens, I decided to splurge and give it a try. It was worth every penny! A little goes a long way because it's thick. It smells FANTASTIC; more like a scented lotion than a sunscreen. Once absorbed, you don't even feel like you're wearing sunscreen. AWESOME protection. I would recommend (and have!) this product to anyone who takes skin protection seriously, especially if you're active outdoors.

TruKid Sunny Days SPF 30+ Natural Sunscreen: 2.0 oz Tube (does NOT contain Vit. A) Review

TruKid Sunny Days SPF 30+ Natural Sunscreen: 2.0 oz Tube (does NOT contain Vit. A)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I spent an inordinate amount of time researching sunscreens this summer, and finally decided to try TruKid, based on the EWG guide and reviews. It's such an improvement over similar types of "safe" sunscreens. It goes on much smoother, it's not sticky or tacky, and the white haze disappears easily once it's rubbed in or once a little time has passed. (My 3-year-old does NOT sit still for me to rub it in, so usually I just slather it on her and wait for the whiteness to fade-- which it does, pretty quickly.)
Each of the other "safe" sunscreens I tried or read about had some kind of downside-- usually regarding the whiteness, the consistency, the difficulty rubbing it in, that it stained clothes, or the scent. I can't find a downside to this one except the price, which is on the high side for the amount of sunscreen you get.
It's true that this is a very small tube-- about the size of a wide toothpaste tube-- and you're instructed to use a "handful" of it each time you apply, so don't expect it to last the whole summer. It's a handy size to keep in a pocketbook, though. When I reorder, I'll order the two-pack.
Because the order was filled by the company, it also arrived with samples of their shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. A nice touch!

Alba Botanica Sun Mineral Sunscreen, Aloe Vanilla, SPF 30 , 4-Ounces (Pack of 3) Review

Alba Botanica Sun Mineral Sunscreen, Aloe Vanilla, SPF 30 , 4-Ounces (Pack of 3)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After reading studies last summer that indicated that many standard, chemical based sunscreens actually accelerate cancerous tumor growth, I started a search for a mineral based sunscreen that would be effective and somewhat affordable. After much research, I settled on the mineral sunscreens from Alba botanicals.
My kids spent last summer with my wife in the Colorado Mountains where the sun can be incredibly harsh and they used this sunscreen every day. We noticed that:
-This stuff is thick and hard to rub in.
-It is greasy
-Nobody got sunburned, even with prolonged sun exposure but we sure did get TAN!
All in all, this isn't as easy to use as traditional sunblock or spray-on, but if it works better to the extent that studies suggest I am a very happy customer.

Emani Flex Mineral Pressed Foundation Review

Emani Flex Mineral Pressed Foundation

A saleswoman at a health store sold me this makeup in Ginger and told me it was great for all skin colors. I have fair skin and usually choose a shade one step away from porcelain. The color didn't look very dark so I bought it. It turned out to be much darker on my skin and I had to throw it away. It looked almost like a bronzer. If you have light skin don't buy this shade. Even though it is talc free, it made my nose itch when I put it on. It also looks a bit heavy. I like makeup that doesn't look like you have any one.

I wanted a natural sunscreen without all the chemicals. I've used alba products before and liked them, so I thought I would give this a try. The lotion is easy to rub in and does not make your skin feel sticky. My skin is fair so I do reapply often to avoid getting burned. The lotion has a nice light fragrance. Sol Kid Care SPF 25 Sunscreen By Caribbean Solutions - 6 Ounces Review

Sol Kid Care SPF 25 Sunscreen By Caribbean Solutions - 6 Ounces
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Caribbean Sol works really well and does not contain any of the scary sunscreen chemicals that harm people or marine life. It has a nice scent, not at all chemical. It goes on whitish because the active ingredients are mineral sun blockers, not chemical sun absorbers, but then disappears after a while, which is an incentive to put it on well before you go outside, which is better for sun protection anyway. It stays put and is non-greasy. The kids' formula is labeled water resistant.
It's a good value for a natural product -- and if you read the labels, a lot of the "natural" sunscreens contain the exact ingredients you want to avoid. Department store cosmetic brands sell sunscreens at twice the price with the same nasty chemicals as the drugstore brands. Choose carefully.

Colorescience Sunforgettable SPF 30 Brush Review

Colorescience Sunforgettable SPF 30 Brush
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This product is excellent!!!! I have very sensitive skin and most sunscreens turn my entire face red when I use them (I am allergic to anything that has any type of glycol or salicylate in it). This product does not turn my skin red in any way. It does not rub off at all like most other powders do.
I bought the All Clear color in a full size and there is a lot of powder in the tube. I am not that crazy about the brush that comes in this package because bristles keep breaking off and staying on my face (they are hard to remove), but they distribute the powder sufficiently. When using the brush, make sure the sliding brush protector snaps when you push it down in order to have the brush distribute the powder (you will see what I am talking about when looking at the product). The case is very portable and can easily be carried in a purse for touch ups.
However, I have a light medium skin tone and the All Clear casts a slightly pale sheen to my skin (which would be fine for my much lighter winter skin color since I live in So Cal and use sunscreen in the winter, but not for my summer skin color). If you are medium- or darker-skinned, you are better off trying the Perfectly Clear (medium skin tone) or the Almost Clear (darker skin tones) as they have some color to them and won't look so drastic compared to the All Clear alone on your skin. If you have paler skin, the All Clear should work just fine. If you are considering this product, I would recommend buying a sample of the three main colors (All Clear, Perfectly Clear, and Almost Clear) and trying them out to see which color(s) match your skin (it should look natural on you).
Fortunately, I bought the samples of Perfectly Clear and Almost Clear to try out in case the All Clear was too light for me, while the All Clear looks okay if I work a little to blend it in, I found that Perfectly Clear was a great color for my summer skin tone.
One other thing, remember that it is SPF 30, so if you are going to use this product and spend a significant amount of time in the sun, don't forget to reapply the product often (like you would for an SPF 30 lotion) because the protection will break down faster with more sun exposure.
Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone considering using it. Even though it is very expensive, it is worth it and is a more viable option for me to use sunscreen without having my face turn red. I will be buying this product again.
